My New Holiday Travel Bag - (not beautiful but super practical)


For as long as I can remember I have always loved bags...handbags, purses, toiletry bags, make up bags... I even had an obsession with pencil cases too!!! I used to LOVE going “into town” with my nana and perusing the luggage shop just for fun!! You could guarantee I would come out with some little purse or handbag!  There is something about an object with so many different pockets and compartments. 

 For the last few years my wash (or toiletry) bag has been a very lovely canvas bag with my initial on that I got from Not On The High Street a few years ago.  As much as I adore this bag, I have noticed over the last few trips away (albeit camping) that it’s not very practical.  Looks have always taken over practicality but there’s only so many times you can drop your nice cream canvas bag on a camping shower floor and not start to get a bit testy about it (trust me, if you’ve ever seen a camping shower floor you’ll know what I mean)!

 After our last camping trip I decided to order a more practical bag from Amazon, so let me introduce the Lavievert Toiletry Bag (priced at £9.99 this is compartment/pocket heaven).
It has two zipped compartments on either side of the main middle compartment and these all contain separate pockets, pouches and those elastic holders (I have no idea what they’re called).


It also has a hook to hang it up by (bonus feature for the camping showers) and that also has a clear compartment too.


When it comes to filling my wash bag I follow the same process every time and write a list, head to toe, of what I need to pack.  Personally, I love nothing more than ticking of the boxes one by one and it's even more satisfying when everything has its own home!! 


So that’s my new (practical) addition to my wash bag family.  What do you look for when you’re buying a wash bag.... looks or practicality and is it possible to have both?

Hey everyone, I wanted to keep with the theme of the last blog post and do another review on a really super affordable cosmetic brand that I'm so happy I discovered.  Essence Cosmetics is owned by the German company Cosnova Beauty and is a fun, affordable range of make up that you can buy here in the UK online or in high street shop, Wilkinsons.  I personally think it's along the same lines as the Miss Sporty range and would say their branding and affordability is aimed at the teenage market. November Favourites!

It's been fairly quiet on the "favourites" front this month.  I don't feel like I've really changed much since October in terms of make up and skincare routines.  To be honest, I think Christmas and Birthdays have been taking up a lot of my time and I've resolved to be so better organised this year as I always end up in a complete flap come Christmas Eve. I am still absolutely loving the Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipsticks and the shade High Flyer has been on my lips pretty much every day.  I won't go into too much detail about these as I did a complete blog post dedicated to them a few weeks ago which I'll link here if you'd like to have a read. March Favourites!

Hey everyone, It's official!! It's Spring!! and still flipping freezing cold so my enthusiasm for the two mild days we had earlier this month has well and truly worn off! March has been a quiet month in terms of favourites for me.  Although I seem to have bought quite a few new make up and clothing items I haven't really had a chance to put them to good use.... yet! So here's a quick round-up of the few things I've been reaching for in the month of March: Nestling Oval Make Up Brushes I bought these in January and have really enjoyed using them.  I was sceptical at first and thought they were very gimmicky but they apply my foundation and concealer so effortlessly and I find them almost therapeutic to use.  I bought this set from Amazon and although I've stuck to using mainly the larger ones I am eager to try out the smaller ones for eyeshadow and highlighter.
