Review: Jamberry with Laila Nail Wraps

Image
Hey everyone,  I was recently lucky enough to receive some nail wraps to try out from the brand Jamberry.  They were running a Facebook page promotion (I will pop the link to Facebook here )and I was tagged by my good Insta-friend As Seen On Jean (click here to be taken straight to her awesome blog).  I have to admit I had never heard of the brand before and I have never used nail wraps before...ever.  For anyone who knows me or who has followed my blog for a while, will know I suffer with #toddlersizenails!! This is no exaggeration - I honestly think my 6 year old boy has bigger nails than me so I have always stayed clear of false nails and always gone for the easy option of just applying a few coats of nail polish every so often.  This is because false nails never fit and I once had my nails done for a wedding using acrylics and I just couldn't stand how they made my nails feel or look and I picked them off (I know, I can hear the gasps now) at the e...

August Favourites!

Image
Hey everyone, It’s August Favourites time! I know it’s a teensy bit late but I’ve been caught up in the whole excitement of getting the kids back to school and getting some shred of normality back in my life. I’m not surprised to see that my list of favourite things is pretty short for August.  I think this is a combination of it being the summer (beauty and cosmetics products always seem less for me in the heat) and it also being the school holidays and just not having the time that I usually do.  I also want to put a disclaimer out there about the photo quality.  I have no idea what has happened to my camera, but I had to run an update and since then my camera has been all over the place in terms of focusing and it's driving me mad.  I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my blog photos so it's killing me that these aren't quite up to the standard I would like!   First up is the strangest product I think I have ever used....ever! I’m talki...

Love Me Beauty Review - July & August 2017

Image
Hey everyone, It's monthly subscription box review time! If you've followed my blogs for a while you will know that my love affair with My Little Box came to a sad end in July.  I just wasn't happy with the products I was receiving and after a year, I had felt that it was getting very repetitive so I cancelled and began looking at the different options out there. Subscription boxes have really taken off in the last few years and now you can pretty much find one for most things, which is really exciting, but it also makes it difficult to narrow down.  I knew I didn't want to try Glossybox or Birchbox as I was never inspired by their social media posts but it was only when a good Insta-friend of mine ( @highstreet_beauty I thank you very much) mentioned Love Me Beauty that I took a look into it and was pleasantly surprised. The concept behind it is very different to the My Little Box.  That is a subscription where the contents are a complete surprise each month, wh...

What's In My Holiday Make Up Bag vs What I Actually Used

Image
Hey everyone, I hope you're all enjoying the summer holidays! I know the weather has been awful here which is just typical when the kids are off school but we've been lucky enough to spend ten days away at my mum and dad's apartment in Spain which has been bliss. If you've followed my blogs from the beginning you'll know I have a bit of an issue when it comes to packing my make up and beauty products and I put a blog post up last year (I will link it here ) where I tried desperately to stream-line the things I take.  I think I was successful in that my make up bag didn't weigh 2kgs but I still took far too much stuff with me. This year I tried even harder and did really well with all the products until I got to the lipsticks and glosses.  I start off being really good and only putting a few in and then the night before I panic and grab loads "just in case".  I thought I would do a "What's In My ...

July Favourites!

Image
Hey everyone, As I'm writing this, I'm looking out of the window and it's grey and tipping it down and not looking very summery at all, so it feels a bit strange to be posting about "July" favourites!  We have had some nice weather though so I guess we can't complain too much. This is a very, very short post this month as nothing much has changed in my beauty/skincare routine over the last few months at all.  For my make up I am still absolutely in love with the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream which I posted about last month (I will link that here if you want to take a more in-depth read about it) and as my skin is behaving quite well lately, I haven't felt the need to use lots of products or buy lots of new things.  I did however make a couple of little purchases last week (so cheating the "July favourite" a bit) but I did want to share them with you as I instantly loved them. Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint - shades ...

Influenster: Max Factor Voxbox Review

Image
Hey everyone, I'm so excited to be writing this blog post as it's a review of my very first VoxBox.  Firstly, let me just quickly explain what a "VoxBox" is.  A VoxBox is a box full of full-size products that you are sent, completely free of charge, which in turn you review and keep.  I received mine from Influenster which I have been a member of since I started my blog last year.  It's an app that allows you to post reviews on products and likewise, read reviews that people have posted.  The more you post to the app the higher your chances are of being selected for free products.  I was actually tagged via an Instagram friend for this particular campaign (thank you @bekahscrazyworld ) and I have to be honest, when I signed up I completely forgot about it and didn't think I would be in with a chance at all.  As the title says, this box is in collaboration with Max Factor.  I love Max Factor make up ...

(Final?) Review: My Little Box July 2017

Image
Hey everyone, It's that time again when I review my monthly My Little Box and let you know my thoughts on what's inside.  If you have followed my blog for a while you will know that, for the best part, I've had a great relationship with this subscription box, but there have been a few up's and down's along the way.  None more so than in 2017.  I feel that they started off on such a good note with the January box (my review of this can be found here ), but fell short of the mark in February and since then I've not really known what to expect from month to month. Last month's Los Angeles box (review linked here ) was ok but I felt the box was let down with the lack of thought put into the theme and therefore giving me the impression that, at some point, whoever creates these boxes had got a bit bored and started chucking anything in.  I made no secret that I would wait for the July box to see whether I would keep my su...
